Spring has sprung and commuters are returning to the usual daily routines, making their way back into offices around Canada and Out-of-Home Advertising is commuting right along with them.
PATTISON Outdoor is gearing up for what is expected to be a busy and lively summer. More and more advertisers are turning their attention back to the type of engaging and eye-catching OOH campaigns we saw in pre-pandemic times. With a 19% increase in OOH spending from Spring 2021 (SMI), 2022 is looking to be a true return to form for Out-of-Home advertising as Canadians emerge from their homes after a lengthy winter.
1. Transit Vehicle Advertising
TTC ridership is on the rise and with it comes some of the best and brightest ads PATTISON has posted yet. With brands like MGM Gaming and Skip the Dishes advertising across Toronto’s downtown core, it’s easy to see the advantages of OOH advertising. Packages as flexible as TTC Streetcar Dominations, Murals or Strips, will help you size up your campaign and give you opportunities to impact your audience unlike any other media channel. A PATTISON Sales Representative can help you find the best option within your budget.
2. Transit Station Advertising
With ridership up, more people are back in transit stations, and so are Subway Station Takeovers and Dominations. These high-impact installations greet commuters at almost every entrance and usher them to their desired stops. In January, the reality TV streaming service Hayu took over Queen Station for a four-week run and Pantene dominated the Bloor/Yonge Station for eight weeks. Featuring the local star power of Sangita Patel from ET Canada, the Pantene domination attracted major attention from commuters and Patel’s social media followers.
3. Urban Pathways
Underneath Toronto and above the streets of Calgary, Canadians have been returning to Urban Pathways in greater numbers since the beginning of the year. These unique shopping and foot traffic hotspots are a fantastic place to drive views and engagement. With lots of window shopping, our Backlit Posters, LED Walls, Wayfinding Digitals, and Office Elevator Network give advertisers the opportunity to reach shoppers at influential moments near points-of-purchase, around almost every corner.
4. Airport Advertising
Cities aren’t the only ones seeing an increase in commuter traffic, there’s been a significant uptick in air travelers too. Air Canada is seeing more than 100,000 passengers a day1 and WestJet has been helping an estimated 48,000 guests get to their destination across 450 flights.2 With numbers like these, we can expect to see more domestic and foreign visitors again and in turn they can expect to see a return of branded content in their terminals and parkades. PATTISON is the leader in Airport Advertising in both the Pacific and Prairie Regions and is the advertising provider for a growing number of airports including: Billy Bishop (Toronto City Airport) Terminal, Calgary and Edmonton International airports. There’s a wide selection of airport ad formats that engage with thousands of air travelers a day from big parkade banners to smaller targeted spaces like luggage carousels.
